EMERALD EMC-2005 MULTI-AXIS AUTOMATION CONTROLLER
The Emerald EMC-2005™ is an evolutionary performance upgrade of IIS’ highly successful EMC-2000 Motion Controller featuring twice the processor speed, additional axis of control and a host of functional upgrades.
The EMC-2005 is a high performance multi-axis Motion Controller for demanding applications that require close coordination of multiple servo axes, I/O and auxiliary equipment. The Emerald Motion Controller embodies a blend of open architecture features with a true realtime operating system to give state of the art performance and superior connectivity to other control systems or communication networks.
The Emerald Motion Controller is powerful enough to execute all of the realtime control, and operator interface functions required in OEM equipment, thus eliminating the need for additional control devices such as a PLC. Unifying all the machine control in the Emerald EMC-2005 simplifies the application software development process and eliminates critical timing bottlenecks typically found in multiple box control or PC based strategies.
The open architecture design of the Emerald Controller includes industry standard features such as SERCOS Interface, DeviceNet and dual PMC ports that provide virtually unlimited connectivity to ancillary control devices. The open architecture design also includes the ability to run custom or third party PC software on the optional embedded PC.
The IIS Emerald Development Environment (EDE) suite of software tools is used to configure the system resources and develop the application program. Application programs are written with an extended version of the familiar BASIC language using “AutoComplete” lists for parameters and options.
The Delta S line or the new Emerald Series of SERCOS drives and motors are performance matched for use with the Emerald EMC-2005 motion controller.
